Samsung and LG may be producing a tablet or smartphone that uses a flexible display. But before the two companies show display creations rigidities, NHK Science & Technology Research Laboratories (STRL) has preceded it.
STRL announced the existence of such rigidities OLED screen in an open house is intended for journalists on May 28, 2013 yesterday. The flexible screen is layarfull any color that has a resolution of 640 x 460 pixels.
Party STRL said that flexible OLED screens are still in the development stage. And event yesterday was the first publication by STRL related development this screen.
Furthermore, the STRL revealed that they developed this screen IGZO technology that promises sharper image quality. IGZO technology allows a screen to be able to store more pixels.
In addition, STRL also use TFT materials for the flexible screen. STRL party and said with a combination of IGZO TFT, they could make large flexible screen.
